Graphic Links, Inlays, and Appliques Add Dimension
Every manner of intersecting line and pattern are appearing today in Bernhardt’s Fall 2014 collections. On silhouettes ranging from utterly simple to eyepopping handworks, intersecting geometric patterns—often interpreted in a light-reflecting material—are what dress them up.
Faye Mirror 353-330. Strikingly graphic. Light-reflecting kabebe shell tiles laid in an overscale geometric pattern. Round metal frame. Dia36 D1 in., suggested retail $960.
Jewell Drawer Chest 353-116. Beyond pretty, flirty. Lacy mother-of pearl inlays on drawers and sides. High leg cabinet of acacia veneers with a weathered grey finish. W40 D18 H32-1/2 in., suggested retail $2735.
Fontana Dining Table 353-773-998-054P. Cage of golden chains. Intersecting oval links in solid and tubular steel with a gold finish. Dia54 H30 in., suggested retail $2337.
Skylar Chair N2403. Ode to the Greek key. Outline cast iron frame in an aged gold finish, integrated Greek key arm. Plush upholstery shown in a white plain cloth. Curved back for extra seating comfort and style. W27 D33-1/2 H28-1/2 in., suggested retail $1375.
Marquesa Dresser 359-044. Applique over sparkle. Overlapping oval metal fretwork applied over antiqued mirror, sparkling rosette pulls. Highleg cabinet in white oak veneer with a Gray Cashmere finish. Subtle walnut inline on the top surface. W62-7/8 D20-1/2 H39-1/2 in., suggested retail $3435.
