Haven: Classic Line & Proportion, Modern Energy
April 20, 2013
Modern is just a frame of mind. Today Bernhardt introduces the Haven collection, 62 eclectic skus with classic lines and proportions from the 18th century English masters – Adam, Sheraton, Hepplewhite – reduced to a modern essence.
The Haven collection features figured walnut dressed in a variety of finishes: Cameo, Raven, Brunette. Accent materials include silver leaf, ivory lacquer, satin finished steel, and faux horn.
"Because these pieces are so delicately balanced, and refined down to their essential forms, they’ll work perfectly in most any environment," says Ron Fiore, Bernhardt creative director. "These pieces create a great wardrobe of items for your home."

Other Featured Pieces -
346-142 Haven Cabinet. The quatrefoil – a classic 18th century Gothic form – is multiplied times six and inset over antiqued mirror glass door fronts. Figured walnut veneers, Raven finish. Two doors. Inside: adjustable/removable shelves, vented back, grommet holes for electronics wiring. W46 D19 H661/2 in.
346-132 Haven Buffet. Like a sharply tailored suit from Savile Row. Figured walnut veneers are worked up in two finishes – dark Brunette on top, outlines, and interiors; pale Cameo on doors and end panels. Bar pull hardware is brass with a nickel plated finish. Inside: fixed shelves, two drawers – one with a silverware inset. W72 D21 H38 in. Also available with the Brunette finish overall.
346-111 Haven Square End Table. Start with a classic X-stretcher tea table. Take away any unnecessary froufrou. Build it in satiny metal. Add a walnut top in lacquered Cameo finish. That’s modern – and still classic. W24 D24 H26 in.
346-121 Haven End Table. A simple delicate table with square tapered leg – very Federal. What’s new is the degree of simplicity, a cartouche shaped top, and sharp two-tone treatment.
