Luxury + fun, high shine, gold, color surprises

The heritage Bernhardt brand is exploding into a real fashion house this Fall. One leading direction in furniture design: luxury + modern + fun.

These styles express real optimism with elements of high shine, little touches of gold or maybe a little more gold, punched up graphics, and happy energy color surprises.

Featured Pieces:

Modern Baroque Setting – In the Bernhardt Interiors collection, a powerful, expressive setting (right) for those who appreciate a modern controlled elegance. The setting includes classic artwork reinterpreted by Bernhardt. Within this setting:

N1457 Fitzgerald Sofa, a French Baroque seating form shown in stried gold velvet. 320-024 Brielle Cocktail Table, and 340-104 Brielle End Table in soft gold patinated brass and cream lacquer. 320-812 Dynasty Screen, in ivory Chinese lacquer; N4902L Elka Chair, bone finished frame, mock croc embossed leather. Also available in natural white hair-on-hide.

“The art is creating this modern baroque moment,” says Ron Fiore, Bernhardt creative director. “These pieces have taken on the personality of the art, and like art, they add character to a room.”

Elsewhere among Bernhardt’s Fall introductions, a number of classic structures are presented in silver, gold, and ivory tones. Materials include true silver and gold leaf, a Frost paint/lacquer, ivory Chinese lacquer, and soft gold patinated brass. Among them:

340-541/542 Louis Side/Arm Chairs and 340-522 Percy Side Chair. Surprising urban chic design that feels very rich. Outside backs are available in chalkboard – for inscribing the names of honored guests. Contrasting upholstered color blocks add graphic punch. Crisp nailhead outlines emphasize the classic structures. Offered in Silver Leaf or a Frost finish. Louis (round) W211/2 D243/8 H393/8 in., Percy (squared) W21 D241/8 H39 in. Available in any Bernhardt fabric or customer’s own material (COM).

340-015 Carnaby Round Metal Cocktail Table. Fabulous and exciting to look at, but also works in day-to-day life. Patinated brass table with inset black glass top. W48 D48 H17 in. 

340-024 Brielle Cocktail Table. So pretty and feminine but yet very strong – that’s a good description of today’s American woman and of this table. Soft gold patinated brass blocking paired with creamy lacquered hardwood. W52 D26 H171/2 in.

Then come the high shine and color surprise intros, including:

5077L Madigan Sofa. Edgy, dreamy, rock chic. Classic design in pure aniline black leather with plush tufting, buttons, nailheads. Small foot with casters. Toss pillows in 80s colors crank up the glam – one is a shiny claret colored satin stripe, the other a low shine red/grey woven. This chesterfield makes a great first and last impression. B2247 Kitty Sofa. Feminine + modern. This is a precise and simple sofa covered in a neutral light absorbing bodycloth, tiny nail outlines all around. A play of color and texture is added by pillows – one a bold graphic appliquéd wool in neutral/white, the other a hand-embroidered Baroque pattern in cherry red. W76 D391/2 H28 in. Available in any Bernhardt fabric.
