Spring color combinations
This Spring, Bernhardt Interiors is transforming into a luxury presentation right in step with international fashion houses. Some 50+ new skus of neo-traditional seating, occasional furniture and casegoods are debuting in 20 settings of fully curated room environments.
The energy comes from combining old and new, traditional and modern, high end neutrals and fresh spring accent colors, old world woods with chrome.
Upholstered seating features pure refined bodycloths such as heavy textured ottoman weaves, microdenier chenilles, tonal prints and velvets. High end neutral colors are either layered (for instance, very dry low sheen with lustrous silken accents) or accented with tone-on-tone patterns and spring colors: powder blue, lavender, amethyst, aqua.
Occasional furniture and casegoods feature mixed constructions: polished stainless steel with petrified wood, reclaimed wood plank tops with chrome, faceted nailheads with linen.
"What's exciting to me," says Roger Turnbow, vice president of upholstery merchandising, "is our ability to see what's happening in the international fashion world, and translate that into furniture that shoppers will find to be exciting."
Distinctive designer elements appear throughout the entire collection of seating, accents and casegoods. Among these speciality touches are mirror polished stainless steel legs and frames, overscale modern scalloping, faux shagreen finishes, woven wicker and craftsman handwork.
"Our vision is a look that is chic, what we believe to be fashion forward, and is also accessible," Turbow says.
The success of Bernhardt Interiors continues to grow through three channels. Full line retail stores place the high fashion products in consolidated areas on their floors. Specialty retail stores draw inspiration from the collection and ask the company to create unique pieces for their store based on the Bernhardt Interiors approach. Interior designers place items in their own showrooms and maximize the quick-ship custom upholstery options for their clients.
The spring Bernhardt Interiors collection will be available to consumers in Fall 2012.
